Abbey Church

The Carolingian westwork of the abbey church in Corvey was built in 873. At the time of construction, any artificial light source and excessive brightness seemed alien. The artificial lighting was planned according to the incidence of daylight; the light source should not be perceived when entering the room and thus emphasises the historical architecture.
